The 2008 story of the kestrel in Théding:
A couple visits the nest ...
After the bad year 2007 (death of the male during brooding), another couple visited the nest during the month of September 2007, and returned from January 2008.
Installing the webcam
Activation of the webcam in March: first photo captured on March 22 by Marie (thank you!): The male visiting the nest.
The male and the female
The male replaces the female in the nest, during the time it eats the prey brought by the male (30/04)
An isolated egg?
One of the eggs was isolated, it was handed over with the others, by the hands of the Man. Parents are busy incubating the 6 eggs.
2nd and 3rd babies!
2nd baby born on 24/05 around 15h, 3rd baby born on the 25/05 around 7h45 (2nd day)
The male
The male, its visits to the nest are less frequent during this period because the mother remains in the nest during the hatching; The mother gives itself a fever to get warmer and sweat; thus the shells of the eggs are more flexible and the little ones can get out more easily.
The 6 falcons have 5 days

The falcons are 12 days old
There is still a small difference between the youngest falcon, compared to the others (04/06)
1st flight!
Falcons are five in the nest; The first flew in the morning and landed on a tree in front. (23/06)
We are still 2 at the nest
The fourth falcon flew off in the afternoon of 25/06. They have apparently taken off! They were seen in a tree together ...
Nestlings’s flight videos are included at the end of the slide show below.
